Emmaus Role Play Wedding: Celebrating Theme
Emmaus Nursery Weddings
As part of our 'Celebrating' theme we talked about weddings. Hollie knew all about weddings and had attended one recently. Lottie and Brodie talked about the special food and clothes at their Mum and Dad's wedding, Theodor talked about the photos of his parents' wedding before he was born, George told everyone about the wedding he attended and Robin was a bridesmaid at her Aunty Haley's wedding.
We talked about how weddings are celebrated in church and who takes part. We decided to have a wedding on the beach at Nursery. We set up an altar with a candle, cross and Bible. Children took turns in dressing up as the bride, groom, father of the bride, best man, bridesmaids and flower girls. We had a clergy minister and photographers too! The rings were carried in on an Emmaus shell and we all cheered when the bride and groom were married.
