A Royal Celebration...
on a rainy day!
The whole school celebrated Queen Elizabeth’s 90th Birthday on Friday 10 June.
Dressed in red, white and blue, we all participated in a special royal assembly where each year group researched a decade of the Queen’s life. In Reception, we found out some ‘fun facts’ about Her Majesty. Afterwards, the whole school showed respect by standing to sing the National Anthem.
The rest of the day was filled with fun activities based on British values and the Queen’s life. At lunchtime, the kitchen staff prepared a ‘jubilee’ picnic lunch then, in true British summertime tradition, the heavens opened and our planned playground party had to be relocated indoors!! We played games, danced and enjoyed more party food, then we all had a ‘selfie’ taken with Her Majesty herself!
