Halton Castle and Norton Priory - Monday 27th March
We visited Halton Castle and Norton Priory to learn more about medieval life. The children had a wonderful time looking at the ruins of Halton Castle and picked up some sword skills along the way.
Spaceport - Thursday 2nd February
Y1 visited Spaceport in Seacombe to find out about our topic called Destination Outer Space. We had a great time exploring the hands-on exhibits and particularly enjoyed the planetarium shows. We have been given rockets which we can make at home and we hope to bring them back into school for a BLAST OFF!
Toys - Monday 7th November
Y1 visited the Museum of Liverpool to find out about toys, old and new. We learned about the materials from which they are made and had a chance to play with toys from our parents' and grandparents' childhood. We were invited in to Little Liverpool to learn a bit more about our city and enjoyed a visit to the Tent of Stories too!
Bear Hunt - Thursday 13th October
Our first educational visit tied in with our Literacy work on Michael Rosen's Bear Hunt story book. We went walking in Croxteth Park in search of a bear and we also found lots of signs of Autumn. It was interesting to look inside Croxteth Hall too. We had a great day out and came back to school exhausted!
